Holidays, Airlines, Hospitals, and Chowder

Mom and I awoke and lazily packed up and headed to Burbank again to get some lunch at Bobs Big Boy. I caught a plane from Burbank airport on the day before Thanks Giving and waited NOT AT ALL. No lines, no fuss, nothing. The busiest travel day of the year, and Burbank airport was flawless.

I flew through Las Vegas and gambled away $5 in the airport terminal before boarding my flight that would get me in to Boston at midnight. Ryan picked me up and I noticed that other than flying for 7 hours, I wasn't feeling very good. By the time I got to bed I was really sure something wasn't right.

Long story short, I ended up with a fever of 101, cough, headache, and abdominal pain for all of thanks giving at his lovely family home with loads of people I would have loved to spend time with. Unfortunately I was completely out of it and taking so many meds to try and help the pain that it probably only made things worse. I was more concerned about the abdominal pain because it seemed unrelated to the rest of my symptoms.

After consulting my father, we agreed I should probably go see someone about it. So having not too many options, the next afternoon I ended up in the emergency room with Ryan for 5 hours the day after thanks giving. Luckily, it was not all for nothing. They discovered, that as I had suspected, I have a 4.4 cm cyst on my left ovary. BUMMER!

At least 90% of these things just "go away" on their own. So I just have to wait through it and hope that this cold I have along with it, goes away soon. As of today, I feel better than yesterday. I'm still weak and in pain a lot of the time but I have more energy. It'll all be fine soon I hope.

Also, I've set up my DV cam and hooked it up to ichat so I can see Miles while we are apart. Lara held him up so he could see my face plastered across their huge 20-inch screen the other day and I swear he was mesmerized. I think he could definitely see something. I'm not sure how developed his eyes are making out detail from and LCD but he could hear my voice and I'm sure if my face is that big, sometime soon he'll be able to see me and one of these days, he'll know that it is ME! Lara was noting, how cool it would be if I could make him smile just through the computer. That would be nice. Of course, I'd rather be there in person.

So for the next few days, I will be recovering and hoping the cyst gets smaller and not bigger. It is winter here in Plymouth, the air is crisp and the leaves are falling off the trees. I ate a bowl of chowder from the lobster hut today while hanging out with Josh and Ryan. I like it here.
