Setting the date
So, this whole business of weddings and planning is a funny one. Last Friday Ryan and I decided on a date to get married. We decided on a date in August of 2006 and that is SOON! Personally I prefer to work under pressure so it suits me just fine. The act of setting a date set me into planning mode in such an intense way that I have only now (five days later) been able to fall asleep without the aid of some type of sedative. That first Friday, I slept only four hours after tossing in bed for two hours with no success.
The truth is, I am so excited that I can hardly contain it and my mind is constantly polishing ideas and plans for how this is all going to come together. We have some limitations to work with and a lot of family to contact. I have also been designing like a mad fiend. Save the date cards and a website are going to be up shortly. Ryan has been working a lot during the past week so I took the initiative to get going on the site and cards while he did the other work.
I had an idea of what "my colors" were already and I incorporated that in to the designs. I am particularly fond of the website and sometime later this week Ryan will help me cut it up and get it online. I really like the initial creative Photoshop phase of design. I need to work more on figuring out how it all gets programmed. So if anyone has any CSS studying suggestions, pass them on.
My maid of honor bought her bridesmaid dress today!
This is really happening, and I'm so excited.
