FinePix in the Dark

For those of you who might want a new small camera, this one seems like a great next purchase. I am really excited about it... and as far as switching brands, I always admired fugi's consistent ability to create both filmstock and cameras that produced really punchy colors especially great for reds and greens.

I shot all Martin Gore's solo pics with fugi film. The camera does not come out until June but it seems worth the wait. I can't tell you how many times I wish I had a small compact camera that would take shots in low light.

For instance, that camera that you sometimes shove down your pants to sneak into a concert... then when you take it out later you end up having to produce flashes of light that totally give the fact that you have a camera away.. it sometimes gets you in trouble with security. I know that most of the time those backstage pics would look a hell of a lot better without flashes. The majority of rockstars look better in dim lighting, you know?

Also. I like that the photos are of a reasonable size. Not too large.. like I sometimes feel like mine are. I often size them down for uploading to flickr. They are still massive, but just not insanely massive.

Mohawk Hat

Hey there, for those of you in need of winter wear... this mohawk hat has been gaining in popularity. They aren't terribly cheap (just over $100), but they are handmade, very warm and clearly able to outlast most other boring winter hats. Our friend Martin has been wearing them in his stage shows and I think it was a perfect way for the girls who make these hats to launch their first website. They make great gifts and I have inspected them up up close. Those ear pads totally work like ear muffs to offer extra wind and cold protection. They definitely are a great way to spice up a otherwise normal winter outfit. So go check them out at www.knit-head.com

Tasty toothpaste - $8 Anthropologie

Damn tasty toothpaste! This toothpaste is yummy. I am excited about brushing my teeth lately because of it. No, it does not do all of that whitening stuff, but it does break up the flavor monotony.
* This is gonna be good
