Awesome revealing personal quiz of the day!

This is surprisingly relevant. I'll explain later.

You Are A: Duck!

duckFound in many lakes and ponds, ducks are a common site the world over. Known for their famous quack, ducks tend to congregate in flocks or go off on their own in pairs. As a duck, you may seem friendly at times but will not hesitate to bite if someone is bothering you. Your love for travel and your ability to swim are some reasons why you are a duck.

You were almost a: Bear Cub or a Kitten
You are least like a: Chipmunk or a FrogCute Animals Quiz

I thought my cousin Dianne might find that last one particularly awesome. You really have to check out the larger version on flickr. So if you want to see that stuff I think you have to sign up for an account!

Photobooth extravaganza!

booth27.jpgThe old school me is online again on flickr.com. I've decided I need to post my entire photobooth collection online. Tonight I uploaded another 48 strips to add to the collection. I still have a few more to put up. Some of them are of me kissing old boyfriends and stuff (ignore those honey!). In general, they represent a lot of good times, as well as my various shades of hair. You can even see some pictures of my sister Lara in there, preggers with Miles. yay!

Enjoy and share amongst yourselves.

Flood Maps

They are expecting a 7 meter rise within 500 years... perhaps this is a good way to choose real estate.

Dooce hatemail & Nornna the movie??

Hate mail sharing for Dooce! Yay! It is all so amusing but my favorite one has got to be this one:

Walter G:
"Everything that you gained will be taken away from you. You are simply a Man-Hating Psycho Lesbian Jealous Feminist! I predict bannishment to the Island of FagLesbian or a re-adjustment camp for you and your ilk!"

[The Island of FagLesbian? That only sounds like ONE BIG PARTY. Send me now!] <---Dooce's response.

Re: Nornna

Oh lord this is getting nearly out of hand! Someone has cut together a rather nice trailer for the upcoming Nornna documentary. I totally approve! I really wonder how Nora is taking all of this. It must be rather overwhelming. Her activity on the site seems to have slowed down lately and I only assume it is because of the thousands of emails she is getting.

Nora on the rise

I was just contacted by a reporter from the NY times. He is doing a piece on YouTube and specifically Nornna. He asked a slew of relevant questions. Apparently it will be coming out this next Sunday so keep an eye out for it. I knew she was going to be big, but I wouldn't have thought that the NY times would have caught on so quickly, props to them.

Killing my sweet time

I have actually been working, but while side tracked, I found this and indulged my desire for wasting time. Perhaps you will too!

You Are Lemon Meringue Pie
You're the perfect combo of sassy and sweet
Those who like you have well refined tastes
What Kind of Pie Are You?

I kinda had to post this, it is my favorite kind of pie after all. I should make it a mission to construct the perfect pie. I have been constantly dissapointed with the ones I have ordered in pie shops. they are always too frighteningly gummy and sometimes the flavor is comparable to chemicals. I made a really awesome lemon meringue pie awhile ago and it ended up being too runny in the middle (not enough cornstarch). Boy, it was easy on the eyes, and tasty even if I had to use a spoon to eat it.

More of this

As I get older, I am increasingly disappointed by my ability to remember things. This weekend I've met so many people and witnessed so many funny, notable stories in action and I can hardly recall them now. I end up looking back on the situation with an overall sense of the fun or the way I got to know someone better than I knew them before. I don't think I am particularly good at telling stories.

Being here at sxsw I hear about blogs every day. I have this blog here, but I've not really applied myself to writing in it consistently. I would like to improve on this. I think that perhaps I could supplement my lack of excellent memory by writing more frequently. I'll just have to make sure that I don't kill too many brain cells with lack of sleep and alcohol before I sit down at the computer.

26 grilled cheeses in 10 minutes

This woman manages to win a grilled cheese eating contest and with a claim to fame like that, still works at burger king. There is something truly magical about eating for sport. I fondly recall the evening where after weeks of anticipation I went over to Aimee's house to watch the famous Glutton Bowl where Kobayashi completely annihilated the competition. The event was most spectacular because of its presentation. As each round began the mystery food (which was always announced as a surprise) was dumped from the ceiling from one huge vat to another on the stage. Oh god it was disgusting, I will never forget it. The foods they ate would get more difficult as each round went on (mayonnaise, hard boiled eggs, hot dogs). Eventually for the finale the vat tipped and what had to be over 300 lbs of boiled cow brains fell from 40 feet. Aimee and I still joke about the glutton bowl and how amazing it really was. Absolute horror.

Diamonds are Forever - Even though you aren't!

I can't tell if I hate this or love this. Diamonds made from the ashes of loved ones. This is no joke. At first I couldn't even believe it and then of course I pinched myself, and remembered that we are living in an age where people are paying to have themselves cryogenically frozen. Crushing up some ashes and wearing them as jewlery isn't too far off. One thing that surprised me was how expensive they are! Oh my they aren't cheap. I figured with the "fake" diamonds they make now being billed as scientifically the same and faster and cheaper to make, that these would also reflect that convenience. Oh well. Do I want a blue diamond made of my love bird tweety? Would it be creepy or just make me think of him more often? Who knows. I'm sure I won't, unless in the future they offer this as a cheap add on to cremation services. Ahh happy day! Can you tell its grey and raining here?

Whoring out to The Dream Wizard 101

Ryan is the best guy ever. I woke at 7am out of a terrible dream and called him immediately (it was 10am in Plymouth). He is so generous, he offered to send me his Dream Wizard to help fix things up. To which I replied, "What? you're whoring me out to your dream wizard!!??" Well, since the dream wizard teleports, within an hour I got back to sleep and had only good dreams until 11:30am. Dear god, I haven't slept that late since I was on east coast time. Again, I called him up upon waking up just to say thank you.

Emma has an appointment at the rat vet tomorrow morning, so she'll have to wait until then to get checked out. I hope she is okay, but it looks pretty bad to me. Poor sweet Emma.

p.s. VH1's "my super sweet 16" has got to be evidence of the end of days. That show is frightening.
